Cocktails

The best way to structure a blog is to start with an opening paragraph. You can also use this as an ‘Except’. This is where you introduce the topic and ideally use a keyword or keyphrase, so your post can be found and your reader knows what your blog post is about.

Why Blog?

Blogs are a great way to showcase your latest projects, behind the scenes and show your prospective customer insight into you, your style and passion. Blogs can be written in a variety of styles and are a great way to have a conversation with your reader.

Headings

Using headings breaks up your text and makes your blog post easier to read. The above is Heading 2 (Heading 1 is for your main post title) but you can also use Heading 3 or 4 within your paragraphs.

Heading 3

Heading 4

Can you see how much easier this is to read? You can also make the heading bold or italic or both.. Heading 3 and 4 are also a good size used for subheadings.

Images

Using images breaks up your text and helps tell your story. Being creative, you will never be short of imagery. You can just have a ‘Featured Image’ but you also may want to write about your latest project or photoshoot.

Single Image

You can use one image in between paragraphs to break up the wording. It’s a good layout to use images as you can tell your story in a variety of ways.

Gallery

Another option is to use a ‘Gallery’, which is a great way to showcase a range of images at once. You can adjust the view to show 2 or 3 columns, depending on the type of images you want to use. You can rearrange the gallery to fit the images better, as you will see that one of the images (above) is landscape and therefore does not work very well as a portrait. You may also notice that, because I added an odd number, the last portrait shot takes up all the space and is slightly blurred, due to the wrong dimensions.

Captions

You can also use captions for each image (see above) example. You can explain the image in further detail.

Categories

Adding categories is a great way to organise your blogs. This enables your readers to find the information that interests them. You could have categories for Fashion, Weddings, Photoshoots, Media, etc. You can also have sub-categories.

Tags

Tags are just like you use with social media. So if you did a photoshoot with a product you could use this as a tag name.

Feature Image

You need a ‘Featured Image’ to represent what your post is about. This is important to catch your readers’ attention and ideally not already used in your post.
